elected President of Public Library Association for 2013-2014
Congratulations to Skokie Public Library Director Carolyn Anthony, who has been elected the 2013-2014 president of the Public Library Association. The Public Library Association (PLA) serves public libraries nationwide to strengthen them and their contributions to their communities and to enhance the effectiveness of public library staff and services. Ms. Anthony states that she is “thrilled with the vote of confidence in my leadership abilities by the PLA membership,” and she is looking forward to helping public libraries address today’s challenges.She will become PLA president-elect at the conclusion of the 2012 American Library Association Annual Conference in June and will assume the PLA presidency in June 2013 for one year, presiding over the PLA 2014 Conference. Skokie Public Library staff is very pleased and proud that our director has been selected for this national leadership position!
