Skokie Public Library Kids Welcomes Lesléa Newman
...Voice of Youth Award winning author!

At 4:00pm, the author will read from her picture books in the Youth Services Preschool Area. At 6:00pm, kids and their grown-ups are invited to meet an Akita dog just like the one Newman wrote about in her book, Hachiko Waits. At 7:00pm, Newman will speak in the Petty Auditorium about her books and writing. Autographing will be available after the presentation and books will be available for purchase. The evening program is suitable for students in grades 1 through 5 and adults. Advance registration is required and begins February 1. Sign up online or call the Youth Services desk at 847.324.3149.
