Winter Reading Club
January 2 through February 16
"Pop Open a Good Book" debuts Wednesday, January 2. To keep your winter days "popping" children can choose to do fifteen activities from January 2 through February 16.
Activities include reading books, checking out a CD and dancing, checking out a DVD and watching the movie with your family, enjoying a Library program, or going for a long walk! In person registration is required. Completion of activities is on the honor system and can be checked off in your log beginning January 20. To obtain the highest level of POP, try new things to keep it fun!
All children that have completed a minimum of fifteen activities will receive an insulated lunch bag and a chance to register for our Winter Reading Club Extravaganza on Saturday, March 2. Lunch bags are generously donated by our sponsors Evanston Subaru of Skokie and Dolphin Swim Club. Those who have completed the activities are automatically registered to win one of our Winter Reading prize baskets – one will be awarded to Bookmobile patrons and four will be awarded to Library patrons.
The reading club is for all kids from newborn through grade 8. Sign up at the Library or on the Bookmobile beginning January 2.
