Local photographer Jack Demuth was born on October 28, 1946 in Waterloo Iowa.  His art education included classes in fine art at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California; photography courses at the School of Visual Arts, New York City; and additional photography sessions at Columbia College in Chicago.

His work includes photo illustrations for the documentary children’s books City Horse and Joel Growing up a Farm Man, winner of Midland Authors Children’s Book of the Year award.

In 1986, Mr. Demuth exhibited his photography series “Visions of Abandonment” at the Dittmar Gallery, Northwestern University.

His other portfolios include Sweet Sixteen and Pregnant and Self Portraits in a Dentist Chair.
