Great Decisions Discussion Group

If you are interested in the study and discussion of world events, join the Great Decisions Discussion Group.

The Great Decisions Discussion Group follows the program set up by The Foreign Policy Association (FPA), a national, nonprofit, nonpartisan, educational organization founded in 1918 to educate Americans about international issues that influence their lives. Each year the FPA publishes a briefing book that contains information on the topics selected for that year. Books may be picked up at the LogoReaders' Services desk of the Library. Topics for 2009 include Rising Powers, Afghanistan/Pakistan, Energy, Egypt, Food, Cuba and Human Rights.

The Great Decisions Discussion Group meets on the third Wednesday of each month [except August and December] in the Book Discussion Room on the first floor of the Library. Meetings typically include the viewing of a short video on the topic followed by an informal discussion led by a librarian.

To register or receive more information on this program, call or Bruce Brigell at 847.673.7774 or stop by the Readers' Services Desk on the first floor of the Library.
