Fiction Book Discussions
Upcoming Dates and Titles
Adult Services staff conduct monthly book discussions which are open to Skokie residents as space permits. Participants may attend either a morning or evening group. Skokie residents can pick up copies of the book to be discussed on the fifth day of the month preceding the discussion. To participate, sign up at the Readers' Services Desk.
As a service to local book discussion groups, Skokie Public Library offers twelve copies of books previously used for Library book discussions. These are generally trade paperbacks which have been used once. If your book group is interested in borrowing multiple copies of any of these titles for your discussion, please contact the Readers Services Department of the Library at 847.673.7774 by phone, or via email at askrs@skokielibrary.info.
The Skokie Public Library book discussion group has been meeting for more than thirty-five years; a full list of books discussed over the years by the group is available online. For additional information about reading groups, please visit some of these selected book discussion sites.
Book discussions for teens are also held at the Library. Readers in their 20s and 30s are invited to participate in LitLounge, a social book discussion group which meets outside the Library.
All book discussions are held in the Book Discussion Room, located near the west entrance.
