Job Openings at Skokie Public Library

Job openings for teens are not posted on Skokie Public Library's website. Teens aged 16 and older can fill out an application in the the Administration Office on the third floor. Completed applications are kept for one year and an applicant may be called for an interview when a position opens.

Skokie Public Library volunteer opportunities

These opportunities are part-time and may be regularly scheduled, or may occur on an as-needed basis for special projects. Anyone over the age of fourteen may apply to be a volunteer. Volunteer opportunities may include reading to the blind, helping patrons use computers, clerical responsibilities, assisting children with crafts, helping librarians plan programming for teens or other patrons, or cleaning library videos.

Applications for volunteer positions are available Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm in the Administration Office on the third floor of the Library. Completed applications are kept on file for one year and are often the primary source for filling openings.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

Do you have great ideas for making the Library better? This volunteer opportunity puts you in the driver's seat. We are accepting applications through November.

Career Center from Tutor.com

Career Center is organized into sections on Career Help, GED Preparation, Citizenship, and Back to School. The Career Help section includes resources to help write resumes and cover letters. Resumes and cover letters can be uploaded and evaluated by career experts using ProofPoint. ProofPoint is available from 3:00 to 10:00pm only.
