I see her there sitting in her chair
With her walker by her side
The memories in her eyes, and the tears that she cries
Of the people that have long since died
Of her mother and brother
Her daughter and son
Every day in that way
Drying her tears in the sun
She doesn’t like to walk and will never stay to talk
She just sits and rests her mind
Too much effort to be strong, too much living for so long
It’s just too hard to be so kind
She’ll go to bed tonight, and turn off the light
And pray that tomorrow won’t be
I see her there sitting in her chair
And wonder if she sees me
