Lament to Rosen Mountains

The sky has been burned

the color of a faded rose painted wispily.

Gleaming snow has covered

the mountains with a blanket of death.

Giants reach toward the hidden sun.

Horizon is nonexistent, a mirage

between jagged peaks

and pink heavens.

Obsidian rocks have been transformed.

They carry the blood-red sky

upon their shoulders,

pride echoing through the air.

Darkness covers the golden forest

with a bleak, somehow hopeful shadow

of eternity.
