The Winter Sky

There is a hint of sorrow in the air
Like the sky broken into a thousand pieces
Like the universe shattered
Never to be made again
Like the cracked wind
In a never ending sky

Filled with darkness
And hope
We never know why
These are some of the things
We can never explain

The orange-red sun is setting
In the distant sky
With a hint of
A hard, cold winter
Never to be seen again
Until the next summer

The small, but sharp
Snow starts falling
With no sign of stopping
Falling, falling
Until life becomes still
Never to be seen again
